If Mitch Trubisky plays well, the Chicago Bears could turn this one into a route.

The Chicago Bears are clearly the better team when you stack them up against the San Francisco 49ers. In fact, the game being in San Francisco doesn’t even change that.

However, it will be interesting to see how the Bears respond after winning the division. They are open to a let-down game, especially one where they have to travel to California and play on the road.

You could argue that the key to this game is to just show up. The Bears are the better team and if they play their game, they’ll win. But there are certain things to team must do to make sure that happens.

First of all, the 49ers do not protect the football well and are a -22 in turnover ratio. The Bears should be able to cause turnovers and when they do, their defense is nearly unbeatable. The 49ers also have a serious weapon in George Kittle. Kittle racks up YAC and has been a beast of a target for whatever 49er QB is throwing the football in a particular week. Danny Trevathan and Roquan Smith will have to keep Kittle contained.

But the biggest hole to exploit and the key to this victory is the weak 49ers secondary. That’s where the Bears can win this game and where Mitch Trubisky could have one of his best games of the season.

The only other team with a secondary as rotten as San Francisco’s is Tampa Bay’s and we saw what Trubisky did there. We also saw Trubisky exploit a LIons’ secondary as well. The Bucs’ secondary is last in the NFL with a 111.1 passer rating allowed. The Detroit Lions are 31st with a 105.5 passer rating allowed. Who’s 30th? Correct. The 49ers at 103.1.

The 49ers have struggled against the deep ball and we know Matt Nagy loves to open up the passing game with balls down the field. There’s no reason to think that there won’t be opportunities for Trubisky and the Bears to beat this team deep and grab big chunks of yards at a time.

If the Bears’ D plays their game and Trubisky does what he did against the Lions and Bucs, this game will be ugly in a hurry. Chicago could be winning by three touchdowns at halftime and could cruise in this game.

As long as Matt Nagy has them ready and there isn’t a letdown after winning the division championship, the Bears cruise to an easy victory.

Prediction- Chicago Bears 34, San Francisco 49ers 15
