Avonte Maddox

Avonte Maddox is a fourth round rookie from Pitt who was undersized, but proved he has the heart to play in the NFL this season. Maddox started the season as a depth cornerback but found his way into playing free safety when Corey Graham went down.

The issue for the Eagles is that Maddox has never played free safety in his career. Fortunately for the Eagles they got healthy in their backend and were able to move Maddox back to cornerback. Maddox started each of the last three games at outside cornerback, and the Eagles have won all three games.

Maddox has also been the Eagles best cornerback in that span, allowing just a 67 passer rating while facing the likes of Brandin Cooks and DeAndre Hopkins.

Maddox is undersized and unexperienced. However, that is not stopping him from making key plays that have turned the Eagles season around. The Chicago Bears must be wary about what Avonte Maddox can bring.
