Bryce Callahan

Callahan is likely a tougher call than Amos. On one hand, he is a slot cornerback coming off of his best season. The need for slot cornerback is highly prevalent in todays NFL and we just saw Golden Tate score a game winning touchdown against Sherrick McManis. There is a need, he fills it with high quality play, it should be a no brainer.

However, there is likely a reason the Bears tagged him but did not extend him this past offseason. It could be argued he was underpaid this year. If the Bears thought so highly of him why would they not extend him before his breakout year?

Maybe they do not think as highly of him as others. Then there is the injury factor. He ended his season on the IR after all and is not looked at as an NFL ironman. On top of that he is undersized.

In a similar situation to Amos he is worth bringing back but the price has to match the risk and the Bears do have to understand the limitations that comes with extending Bryce Callahan.
