Week 6: Bears 28, Dolphins 31 (OT)

If there was one time in the regular season that fingers could’ve been pointed at Parkey, it was in the overtime loss to the Dolphins. There was no wind, rain, snow, or mud in Miami to help justify Parkey’s wide-right miss on his game-winning 53-yard attempt. However, let’s just not focus on the kicker and look at other things that made the overtime period necessary.
With a 21-13 lead early in the fourth quarter, the Bears were driving for another score. Already in the red zone, Mitchell Trubisky threw a red-zone interception in the end zone that killed the drive, and Chicago’s momentum.
On the ensuing drive, Dolphins wide receiver Albert Wilson scored a touchdown on a 43-yard catch-and-run. Although the Bears responded with a touchdown of their own, Miami turned right back around with another catch-and-run touchdown by Wilson—this time for 75 yards. The undisciplined, poor tackling display by Chicago’s defense in the fourth quarter could definitely be the primary reason why the Bears came up short in this contest.
