In this game, defensive end Akiem Hicks scored a touchdown on the one-yard line, and running back Tarik Cohen threw a touchdown with time expiring in regulation to put the game into overtime. Unfortunately, these two rare occurrences weren’t enough and were overshadowed by bad plays by Chicago’s backup quarterback.

The week before this contest, Chase Daniel did a more-than-solid job on Thanksgiving Day against the Detroit Lions. Too bad that performance didn’t carry over to the game against the Giants. Daniel threw two first-half interceptions, something that prevented the Bears from having a bigger lead than the 14-10 advantage they had going into halftime.

To go along with Daniel’s two picks, the veteran QB was credited with four fumbles as well—some of which were caused by bad snaps from the center. One fumble in particular happened on a second-and-three on Chicago’s final drive in overtime. And it didn’t help that the offensive line allowed five sacks. These miscues gave the inferior Giants confidence, and eventually the game.
