Jeremy Langford, RB, Michigan State, 4th round, 106th overall

Grade: D+

When the Bears drafted Langford, the speculation immediately began about the future of Matt Forte with the Bears. Forte and Langford shared the running back duties during Langford’s rookie season and he showed flashes of becoming a legitimate running back at the NFL level.

When Forte’s contract expired, the Bears let him walk and committed to Langford. Langford was given the keys to start his second year, but he struggled mightily and it was clear he wasn’t the answer at running back. Fortunately for the Bears, rookie Jordan Howard stepped up and straightened out the running game.

Entering Langford’s third year, his status was up in the air during training camp. When it came down to final cuts, the Bears chose to fully commit to Jordan Howard and let Langford walk. The Baltimore Ravens picked him up and he bounced around after a brief stint in Baltimore with the New York Jets, Miami Dolphins and Atlanta Falcons. Langford played one game for the Falcons last season gaining only 25 yards on 9 carries.
