5. Do not overreact to quarterback stats
Everyone freaks out over Tom Brady and his stat line. Sometimes it is not pretty, but he gets it done every year for what seems to be ever. With the young career of Mitch Trubisky, it seems as though every week he is either a legend in Chicago or a bust.
This is not to say that Trubisky can be Brady. However, Brady did not outplay Jared Goff for large portions of the game. He severely outplayed Goff in crucial parts of the game, though.
He started slow, but as the game went on began to make key passes all over the field. Mitch Trubisky did not light up the Eagles. His stats could have been a lot worse. But his fourth-quarter play kept his team in the game and gave them a chance to win.
Sometimes the stats do not matter with quarterback play. Sometimes it is the ability to get up after failing and throw that same pass a touch faster. We will see how Trubisky handles the failure with a chance to show greater than Jared Goff in the big moments against big opponents in the future.
