The new league year is officially underway for the NFL, and the Chicago Bears have been making some moves. So far, Chicago has added running back Mike Davis from the Seattle Seahawks, cornerback Buster Skrine from the New York Jets, and wide receiver/return specialist Cordarrelle Patterson from the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots. Now, general manager Ryan Pace and the rest of the Bears’ brass are trying to fill some vacancies in their starting defense.
Safety Adrian Amos is now a member of the division rival Green Bay Packers, and it has been reported that Chicago is hosting free agent safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. Ian Rapoport, National Insider for the NFL Network and NFL.com, broke the news via Twitter on Wednesday.
Clinton-Dix will be entering his sixth season in the NFL in 2019, having spent the first five and a half years with the Packers before being traded to the Washington Redskins midway during the 2018 season. Even with the Redskins already signing free-agent safety Landon Collins, they are still interested in retaining Clinton-Dix.

Having lost their only defensive starter that wasn’t under contract this offseason, the Bears will be meeting with Clinton-Dix up until Thursday. Clinton-Dix, who has 14 career interceptions, has played in all 80 regular-season games of his career—starting in 74 of them.
Being ranked 44th in the Top 101 Free Agents of 2019 on NFL.com, Clinton-Dix could be another big name added to an already start-studded defense for the 2019 season.
