4. Jeff Allen

Jeff Allen is a name that Matt Nagy will be familiar with. Drafted by the Chiefs, Allen spent years two through four in the NFL on a team that Nagy was an assistant for. Nagy already brought in Bryan Witzmann, why not Allen?

Allen left Kansas City in 2015 for a payday in Houston. His stint in Houston did not go as plans with injuries being a key catalyst. Allen went back to Kansas City in 2018 and subbed in halfway through the season to help the Chiefs get to the AFC championship.

Allen was not great last season, but in a similar spot to Witzmann last year, he held up and played better when thrown into the fire.

While the Bears added Ted Larsen, who can play a role destined for Eric Kush last year, Allen could be the upgrade from Bryan Witzmann. If Nagy signed off on Witzmann, why not throw a cheap offer at Allen this late into free agency?
