Ranking Chicago Bears offseason moves
How would you rank the Chicago Bears offseason moves so far?
In the down period between the NFL draft and free agency there is not much action going on. If there is, small moves are made as the bigger names will now wait to see which situations suit them best post-draft.
With that in mind very little action is going to take place, giving us a good time to review each move. Which moves impacted the team the most? These rankings will reflect where the team stood at that position last season, and how much better or worse they got there.
5. Ted Larsen
The Ted Larsen signing is going to be looked at as a non-factor by most regards. However, when the only other move made was Marvin Hall, this is going to crack the top five.
Ted Larsen also might end up playing a role for the Chicago Bears this season. Kyle Long is healthy, but we all know that this may not last. It has not lasted for more than half of a year for the past three seasons.
The Chicago Bears could draft to find some depth at guard. However, they lost Bryan Witzmann and Eric Kush. Ted Larsen is the next man up at the moment.
Larsen can play guard and center which cuts into the loss of Kush and is a better run blocker than Bryan Witzmann. It is not much of an upgrade, but the team did not downgrade at this spot heading into the draft thanks to Larsen.
