Akiem Hicks dominates our March Madness Twitter bracket and is declared the champion!

We started with 16 Chicago Bears, and in the end, there was only one remaining.

Akiem Hicks took down Kyle Long in the championship of the best Chicago Bears personality on Twitter bracket.

BGO announced the champion on Twitter.

The championship had plenty of juice with roughly 6,000 votes cast.

For those of you who may not have been following since the beginning, here is the original bracket.

Here is a quick summary of the tournament.

In the first round in the Jim McMahon region, Akiem Hicks took down Khalil Mack, Danny Trevathan beat Chase Daniel, Taylor Gabriel cruised past Joel Iyiegbuniwe and Anthony Miller outpaced Roy Robertson-Harris.

In the Mike Ditka region, Kyle Long put the beat down on Javon Wims, Eddie Jackson pulled a mild upset on Allen Robinson, Tarik Cohen crushed Charles Leno and in the biggest upset of the tournament, Mitch Trubisky took out Prince Amukamara.

In the Elite 8 matchups, Hicks destroyed Trevathan. Miller pulled a small upset on Gabriel, Long beat Jackson and Cohen put the smack down on his beloved QB, Mitch Trubisky.

The Final Four was the two top seeds, Akiem Hicks and Kyle Long. Cohen was the overall 3 seed and Miller was the overall 5 seed.

Hicks had no problems with the rookie, Miller and Long took down Cohen in a pretty even matchup.

In the championship game, Akiem Hicks landed 70% of the vote and Long nabbed just 30% as Hicks took the crown.

What made the tournament more fun was how the Bears themselves started embracing the tournament as it moved forward, especially Akiem Hicks (proving how he won this bracket in the first place).

After Hicks crushed Trevathan, the two had this exchange:

When Hicks took down Anthony Miller to reach the championship, he celebrated in GIF style.

By the time we reached the championship game, Hicks was fully engaged in the bracket and even Kyle Long jumped in as well.

In what is a true sign of great teammates, Kyle Long tweeted out the poll to his audience but conceded and said Akiem Hicks deserves to win!

The first ever Twitter bracket is in the books. If you wanted the AP Poll for the final rankings, it would look like this:
