Based on the players the Chicago Bears have interest in, they are going to look for value cornerbacks late in the 2019 NFL draft

The Chicago Bears do not have many draft picks so it is not a shock to say that they are going to wait until late in the draft to take a cornerback. However, there is a bit of a theme that some of the cornerbacks that the Chicago Bears have brought in to workout have.

All fit a similar mold, and all of them are not players that the team is hoping will fall to round three. Rather, these are players that the team will likely be deciding if they should spend a seventh round pick on or if they should wait to try to sign them as a UDFA.

All of these cornerbacks have been brought in for a workout by the Bears. These five cornerbacks all fit into that range, and all could be great fits in the slot for the Bears when thinking of their longterm plans.

Mark Fields

Fields is an interesting prospect from Clemson. Despite the big school pedigree, he is going to fall into the late parts of this draft, mainly because he was unable to see the field often at Clemson.

Fields only played 307 snaps last season and 989 total. However, when he played, he was extremely effective.

Fields is a special case because while most players who cannot start in college can be forgotten, Clemson has so much talent it can be reasonable that once you fall out of line, it is tough to win a job back.

Fields dealt with ankle injuries as a junior and could not get back into the mix as a permanent starter.

Fields is undersized, but profiles well as a slot cornerback. The Bears could be looking at a high pedigree player who can sit behind Buster Skrine for a season, and potentially find his chance to shine in the NFL with the Bears
