Offensive Line

While most of them are late round players it is worth noting that the Chicago Bears have been linked to nine offensive linemen in the pre-draft process. That includes bringing three offensive linemen into the visit, Nate Davis, Hjalte Froholdt, and Brandon Hitner.

While they have worked out a couple of tackles, it is worth noting that these three are guards in the NFL. Still, Hitner and Davis have some tackles reps, and Froholdt could move inside to center. The versatility is something Chicago likes as Ryan Pace drafted James Daniels and Cody Whitehair who are versatile players.

Still, of the nine players they met with on the offensive line, at least seven project best on the interior in the NFL. It is clear that Kyle Long likely has one more NFL season, and the team does not have his longterm replacement on the roster. With a later round pick, they may only end up with a depth rotational player. However, building depth and taking chances on a future starter will have to be done this draft, because if Long does go down, they are in trouble.
