Five most interesting nuggets from the Chicago Bears schedule
1. The Chicago Bears have three Thursday games
It shouldn’t be too surprising that the Bears play one game on Thursday night. That’s the case most seasons, but in 2019 the Bears will play on Thursday night three times.
While that may seem like a disadvantage, it actually isn’t the way the schedule shakes out. The Bears first Thursday game is in week one against the Packers which means there is no short week since it’s the first game of the season.
The Bears play on Thanksgiving against the Detroit Lions so they will have a short week to prepare for that game, but their third Thursday game is the following week against the Dallas Cowboys.
What makes this unique is that the Bears have a full week to prepare between the Detroit and Dallas games. What is an added bonus is that because of those Thursday games, the Bears have extra time off after the Packers and Cowboys games.
So even though the Bears have three Thursday games, they only have one short week.
