Five must-watch games from Chicago Bears 2019 schedule
4. Chicago Bears at Oakland Raiders (in London), October 6th
Once upon a time, Khalil Mack was a member of the Oakland Raiders. Mack was drafted by the Raiders and over the course of four seasons, Mack became arguably the greatest defensive player in the game today.
After Mack’s rookie deal was up, he was looking for a lucrative extension. That seems reasonable for someone who dominated offensive lines like Mack did. The Raiders used the franchise tag on Mack and expected him to sign it, but Mack held out for a multiyear contract.
New Raiders chief Jon Gruden felt that the best course of action in negotiations was to just ignore Mack and his camp, so when Mack eventually was traded to the Bears, it wasn’t too much of a surprise that the Raiders moved on, but a shock about how they handle it.
Mack is going to want to prove Gruden wrong- very wrong. You can bet the fire will be burning in his belly that day. Mack has a great motor and doesn’t seem to need more motivation, but those eyeballs tell you everything you need to know.
