3. Mike Davis

When Mike Davis was signed, it became apparent he was the first person signed to begin the Jordan Howard replacement search. Howard was traded shortly after and Davis officially had the highest stock of his career.

Of course, it all came crashing down this weekend when the Chicago Bears added David Montgomery into the mix. Who the Bears added at back was going to matter with Mike Davis.

If the team missed out on Montgomery and decided not to trade up and take the best player available at 87, it could have been a winning weekend for Davis. There was a tier of backs that could step in immediately and get the job done, and then there were high upside players who would get drafted later because they are not complete players.

The Bears need to trade up for Montgomery, one of the competent backs, rather than sitting tight and rolling with Davis and a questionable later round bet would have turned Davis into a potential winner.

However, Montgomery is one of the cleanest prospects in the draft, He will come in immediately and start. This does not speak well to their confidence in Davis.
