The Chicago Bears have so many fantasy weapons, which one would be the must own?

The Chicago Bears are a team that you want in fantasy. Matt Nagy is a creative offensive coordinator, and when his team is clicking, it is hard to stop. However, with the addition of so many offensive players on draft weekend, the fantasy picture is starting to get a little bit jumbled.

Does David Montgomery slot in for Jordan Howard? What does that mean for Tarik Cohen? What the heck is going with these wide receivers? Who are the best bets to own in fantasy?

Running back

At running back, David Montgomery is the early candidate to lead the team in carries. Therefore, he should lead them in yards. He also has pass catching abilities which makes him a Jordan Howard-plus type of option.

However, the question with him is goal line carries. Mike Davis was at his best near the goal line for Seattle, and he is going to cut into Montgomery in some ways. Does he become the vulture?

Montgomery also is going to vulture Tarik Cohen catches. Montgomery is more deadly because he can run between the tackles and catch, where Cohen can be a signal for passes. Still, Cohen is going to be able to play with Montgomery, and likely will remain constant from last season.

Wide receiver

WR is much messier. Allen Robinson was set to be the big winner after a huge playoff performance with Mitch Trubisky. Still, he has injury questions and the team draft Riley Ridley who may be a long term Robinson replacement.

Anthony Miller is the receiver you want to own, but he has shoulder injuries. Taylor Gabriel becomes the boom or bust player, and Cordarelle Patterson may be more enticing as he can get rushing yards.

Tight End

The biggest thing we learned last season is that Trey Burton is who he is. You can increase the role, but he is not going to be more than a complimentary player. While his stock will remain constant, Adam Shaheen was a winner of the draft as the team wide receiver, and not tight end.

Still, this may mean four wide with Trey Burton and less Adam Shaheen. Or more Shaheen blocking which does no good in fantasy.

Mitch Trubisky is the must-own player

All of the pros and cons of these players make one thing clear. Mitch Trubisky is the ultimate winner of the offseason. Matt Nagy is a creative mind. Now, he will not use offensive lineman but instead will go to his sixth or seventh receiver. Or his fourth or fifth back. Or Adam Shaheen.

The Bears are going to spread the ball around. In week one, it could be a Montgomery game. In week two, Cohen explodes, and the next week we hear from Robinson. Trubisky will even add on the ground. The fact of the matter is that when these players have success, it all comes back to Trubisky.

You can take your chances on your favorite players at value. However, if you want the best play from this offense, it is the ball distributor, who is going to get everyone’s stats. The best fantasy option in Chicago is Mitch Trubisky.
