This time last year, fans of the Chicago Bears were wondering just how good this team could be after a major overhaul. Matt Nagy was entering his first year as a head coach in the NFL, and Roquan Smith, James Daniels, and Anthony Miller headlined the Bears’ 2018 draft class. The last-minute, unexpected move to trade for All-Pro linebacker Khalil Mack a week before the start of the regular season bolstered everyone’s hopes, and ultimately turned the tables in the NFC North.

As a result, Chicago finished 2018 with a 12-4 record, a division title, and a spot in the postseason for the first time since 2010. A disappointing loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the playoffs took the air out of the high-flying Bears. Despite the abrupt ending to the year, expectations are even higher for the Bears for the 2019 season.
With a number of nationally-televised games scheduled this season, Chicago will have plenty of chances to show the country just how real they are, and how much of a force they intend to be in the NFC for years to come.
