Who are the top 90 players on the Chicago Bears roster?

Now that the Chicago Bears have entered the dull period of the offseason it is a great chance to look back at the team’s 90-man roster. There will not be many roster changes, so ranking the roster will give us a good chance to see where each player stands as they head into training camp.

These rankings will be based on not only how good the player is, but how valuable they will be in 2019 as well as how likely their role is to impact the team in 2019.

75. Cornelius Lucas, OL

Cornelius Lucas was signed very early into the offseason. That gives him a chance to earn a roster spot as he has a leg up on some of his competition. However, Lucas was a journeyman for most of his career, and his journey likely will not stop in Chicago.

Lucas has been in the NFL since 2014. He. was with the Chicago Bears from 2014-2016. He spent 2017 with the Los Angeles Rams, and 2018 with the New Orleans Saints. At the very worst it is fair to note has been with winning organizations in the past two seasons.

Still, he has not stuck around in either spot and typically does not make it out of camp. Lucas has stuck around in the NFL and it is clear that smart NFL coaches want what he brings to their training camp.

However, Lucas is just a highly valued camp body who will push others with his understanding of the playbook.
