Ranking the Chicago Bears 2019 Roster: 55-51
52. Abdullah Anderson, NT
Last year: 76
Last year Anderson checked in at number 76 as he was a UDFA from Bucknell, with limited experience against big names. However, Anderson was athletic and was somewhat new to football. Still, he dominated, which is vital no matter who you play.
So, he was not quite a bottom of the roster player, but he also was going to have to fight to make the practice squad. Anderson did just that, and spent the entire year on the practice squad.
Now, heading into 2019 he has a chance to make the roster, hence his ranking. When looking at defensive lineman Akiem Hicks, Eddie Goldman and Bilal Nichols are locked into roles. Roy Robertson-Harris and Jon Bullard are not far behind.
Still, there is room for a sixth defensive lineman, and even Bullard is not firm in his standing. This where Anderson can make noise.
Anderson has an even better shot because he can play nose tackle, which only Goldman can play of the names listed. Keep an eye on Abdullah Anderson as not many know him, but he could very easily be a name this preseason.
