Who are the top 90 players on the Chicago Bears roster?

Now that there is a long break between mini-camp and the start of training camp, we can officially look back at the current 90-man roster. This will be the longest stretch without a move on the roster, and this current 90-man roster will carry the Chicago Bears through most of the season. Maybe a change or two will be made.

With that in mind, this down period is the only time to go through all 90 players and rank them. This ranking will look at each player through the spectrum of just 2019. It will look into their talent, their value and how likley they are to impact the roster next season. Today, we start the top 40.

40. Kevin Pierre-Louis, LB

Some Chicago Bears fans may be surprised to learn that Pierre-Louis is on the team, let alone starting us off on the top 40. Pierre-Louis was signed in a period where a lot of attention was on the draft, and his name may have slipped through the cracks.

However, this is a player not to be taken lightly with a chance to make the roster. Pierre-Louis has spent time in Kansas City with the Chiefs and Matt Nagy after starting his career in Seattle. He has been a noted special teams player for his entire career, and Nagy seems to be interested in bringing him back with some other faces he knows on staff.

Nick Kwiatkoski is a free agent at the end of next season, and while he brings value to the roster, he also could be shipped off for a future pick, a la Jordan Howard. This would leave the Bears to need a fourth linebacker with special teams prowess. That makes the signing even more eye-opening. Pierre-Louis could not possibly go higher, as there still is a chance he misses the roster. However, our last player was a kicker who may get cut.

As it stands, Pierre-Louis is a player to watch who may push the Bears young depth.
