Who are the top 30 players on the Chicago Bears roster?
The Chicago Bears are in the midst of their down period of the offseason. From now until training camp there will not be much roster movement, and any news occurring in this time period is likely bad.
With that in mind we are in a good spot to look back and review everything that has happened. This series will look at the Chicago Bears roster and rank the top 90 players in 2019.
This list will look solely at 2019 and will factor in talent, role, and potential to make an impact next season. With that in mind, this post starts at number 30.
30. Bradley Sowell
Bradley Sowell checked in as a fringe roster player last season. He was expected to make the team, but as a depth tackle who could slide into guard if needed. However, entering 2019 his enter perception has changed. Heck, his position changed.
In 2018 he showed that he was apart of the roster, and in the 2019 offseason, the Bears told him that they not only had a plan for him on the roster, but they also see a role for him on the offense.
Some may see the position switch of Sowell to mean that the Bears are not confident in him at tackle, and that tight end is his last straw. To the contrary though, they want to use his tackle abilities, but also highlight his athleticism at tight end.
Sowell changing positions should look him onto the roster as a number three tight end. Matt Nagy has been looking to use more three tight end sets, and Sowell gives him that chance. Keep an eye on what could be a seamless transition this summer.
