28. Deon Bush
Last year Deon Bush was the clear third safety of the group. Whether it be Eddie Jackson or Adrian Amos, Bush was the next man up no matter who went down. When Eddie Jackson we saw just that, but we also knew that if Adrian Amos were to move on, Bush would have a shot to compete for a starter job.
Unfortunately for Bush, despite performing well for Jackson and seeing Amos walk, he stayed put in his ranking. That is because Haha Clinton-Dix was signed and will step in for Amos. So, Bush is almost in the exact same spot.
He will backup both Jackson and Clinton-Dix. Clinton-Dix is signed for one more year, and once again Bush is hoping to step in for a departing free agent next season.
In the transition from Vic Fangio to Chuck Pagano, the Bears may use three safeties a bit more than previous years. However, Bush does not see a jump in his ranking yet.
