Who are the top 25 players on the Chicago Bears roster?

The Chicago Bears have hit the down point of the offseason. With an extended break between training camp and the end of offseason workouts,  there will be little roster movement, and most of the news that comes up in this time is bad news.

With that in mind, this is a great chance to reflect on the 2019 roster. Who are the top players heading into the year, and who needs to step their game up?

This ranking will look into the top 90 players of the 2019 roster. It will look solely into their  2019 value and will determine their talent level, value to the roster and oppurtunity to make an impact on the roster.

With that in mind, who cracked the top 25?

25. Buster Skrine

When the Chicago Bears moved on from Bryce Callahan, it was clear they needed an instant replacement in the slot. Callahan had been excellent in the role, and while he saw more money elsewhere, the Bears saw a hole that needed to be filled.

In comes Buster Skrine from the New York Jets. While rookie Duke Shelley will push, Skrine is almost locked into a starting job in the slot. While he is almost a certain downgrade from an outstanding season by Callahan, and the drafting of Shelley adds fuel to the fire, Skrine still has a chance at success, and thus cracks the top 25.

Skrine played for the New York Jets who notoriously do not have a pass rush to speak of. With a better pass rush, does the coverage of Skrine look better? He will get the chance to prove himself in one of his biggest roles yet.
