Where does the stock of the longtime Chicago Bears right guard stand?

There are two sides of Kyle Long entering 2019. The optimist’s point of view is saying that Long came back to finish the end of last season. He is healthy.

When he was on the field last season, the Chicago Bears run offense flowed well. When they took him off of the field due to injury, they simply could not establish any sort of run.

With an optimist take he is healthy and the run offense is ready to roll. The pessimist take says he has not been healthy for a full season since before Mitch Trubisky was drafted. The past three seasons saw more than seven missed games in every single year.

If this is who the Bears are betting on at right guard, they may have a hole at right guard.

Nonetheless, the offseason was a win for Long. He remained healthy, yes that is key.

On top of that, the Bears were quiet when it came to adding at guard. They signed Ted Larsen, mainly because he can play center and guard. They did add Alex Bars but as an injured UDFA.

Bars has a chance to fight to be the longterm Kyle Long replacement. This is likely the last year the team shows this amount of faith in his health.

Still, the team is showing this amount of faith in his health. They are reliant on Long getting them through one more season at guard. Whether he can do that or not is going to be seen. Odds may be against it. However, for now, his stock is slightly up.
