Who are the top eight players on the Chicago Bears roster entering training camp?

As the Chicago Bears head into training camp we have been looking at the top players on the entire roster. We have gone from 90 and worked our way all the way down to number eight.

In the top ten we have started off with Charles Leno at number 10, and Allen Robinson check-in at number nine. Now, we shift to the defensive side of the ball for number eight. Linebacker, Danny Trevathan.

No. 8 Danny Trevathan

Last Year: number 7

Danny Trevathan came in at number seven last season. He sees a small drop, but only spot. That is because he put up an excellent 2018 season. He held down the role of the play-caller and was one of the stars of what is likely the best defense in the NFL.

He 2019, he is expected to bring the same intensity. However, while it may come slowly, the shift from Trevathan to Roquan Smith as the lead linebacker is going to take place.

This is not going to ding the value of Trevathan much. However, it has his stock trending closer to ten than it does five because of this.

The fact of the matter is that between Trevathan and Smith the Bears have two of the top 30 linebackers in the NFL, and him being an elite number rather than a solid number one is not a bad problem to have.

Expect another 100 tackles from Trevathan, but expect him to let Smith take the reigns of the unit.
