Unlike his two previous teammates that were unveiled on The Top 100 Players of 2019, Chicago Bears safety Eddie Jackson didn’t take as long to make the list. After only playing two seasons in the NFL, Jackson was voted by his peers as the 30th-best player in the league.

As a fourth-round draft pick in 2017, Jackson stepped in as Chicago’s starting free safety from Day 1 and hasn’t taken a step back. During his first two years in the Windy City, Jackson has scored five defensive touchdowns (three of which were in 2018). In addition, six of the University of Alabama product’s eight career interceptions were recorded last season. Those six picks ranked fourth in the NFL in 2018.

The result of Jackson’s dynamic play last year earned him a trip to the Pro Bowl, and First-Team All-Pro honors. The 25-year-old is one of the main reasons why the Bears’ defense ranked third in total defense, led the NFL in interceptions, and in total takeaways in 2018.

With a number of playmakers alongside him on the defensive side of the ball, Jackson and the rest of Chicago’s defense should have another dominant season, and could be the reason why the Bears will have a very strong chance of making a run at the Super Bowl this year.
