3. Ryan Nall

Ryan Nall, like Tanner Gentry, is a player who will excel in the practice sessions, training camp periods, and preseason. In year two, this has to be a year where Nall stands out in a big way. Nall took some steps in his first preseason experience, but it led to a season on the practice squad.

The Bears added skill player after skill player this offseason, but Nall remains a fan favorite. What makes Nall intriguing is his versatility. He can play running back, but in a pinch can slide into the full-back, and even tight end. He also adds special teams value.

Nall has moved around in training camp and showed off his pass-catching prowess in sessions at the end of the week.

The Chicago Bears have been missing Adam Shaheen in training camp with an injury. The team has been looking to find depth in their tight end group and having someone like Nall who can move into the tight end spot and catch passes if needed can help replace some of the questions that come with Shaheen right now.

Nall has a real opportunity here. Nagy is going to want to see as much as he can. He also wants to rest everyone ahead of him on the depth chart. This opens a great chance for Nall to establish momentum for the coming weeks that could lead him to a bottom spot on the 53-man roster.
