Expect to see plenty of Tyler Bray for the Chicago Bears first preseason game

When the Chicago Bears take the field for week one of the preseason, all eyes will be on the kicking situation more than anything else. We know that Matt Nagy does not need to see much from his starters in the preseason, and in Week One, that may be exemplified.

Mitch Trubisky may play briefly in weeks two and three, but he is unlikely to start in week one and certainly will not play week four.

With Trubisky unlikely to start week one, we will see Chase Daniel get a start. He gets a chance to prepare as if he is the starter and go through the motions of a game if Trubisky could not play. However, Daniel will likely lead a drive or two before his night will be over.

The Chicago Bears have a pretty firm depth chart at quarterback, and to maximize a 90-man depth chart have just three quarterbacks. Trubisky may not even suit up. Daniel may get a few drives to dust off the rust, but his pre-game preparation is more important.

This leaves a heck of a lot of snaps wide-open. Buckle up, folks. We are in for a night filled with Tyler Bray.

This can be good for the Bears and for Bray, though. Bray seems to have a wink-wink deal with Matt Nagy that the Bears may not be able to keep him on the roster, but he will get the call if Trubisky goes down as long as he is available and in shape.

It is also not like Bray is in high-demand. Still, he has a great chance to showcase himself, push Chase Daniel and prove that he belongs in the NFL.

Daniel is not a top tier backup and if Bray can prove himself, his relationship and trust in Nagy is vital. Look for a ton of Tyler Bray on Thursday and look for him to play like something is on the line. We will see his reponse.
