5 Chicago Bears who can build off preseason week one

5. John Franklin

With Kevin Toliver sidelined, Franklin and Joseph got the start with Clifton Duck mixed in. All three held up, but if you had to grade them,  Franklin played the best.

Franklin is a former quarterback and a raw player but he has real speed as well. The Bears stuck with him as a UDFA last season and he came back from the practice squad to make some noise in preseason week one.

Toliver may get the start this week as he still needs snaps. Who gets the start across from him? It would likely be Franklin.

This would be a great sign from the coaching staff and for Franklin that he may have taken that step. He has faith from them and has earned time with his talent.

Now, Franklin will likely get snaps against more starters than week one as well. If he struggles, and Duck steps up, that is the end of his parade. Franklin created a foundation last week. Now, he needs to build off of it.
