Clifton Duck is standing out

The UDFA from Appalachain State played well in first preseason game but was behind Michael Joseph and John Franklin on the depth chart. With Kevin Toliver getting back into the mix it was tough to predict a bigger workload for Duck. However, he took advantage.

Joseph got beat down the field while Franklin allowed a touchdown. Meanwhile, Duck had an interception deep in his own territory with a nice return to go with it. Considering their development trajectories and play, Duck should be ahead of Joseph, and potentially Frankin heading into the next game.

If Duck can play across from Toliver in the next game he will have a chance to earn a roster spot as a sixth cornerback. Look for Duck to continue to make noise.
