These five Chicago Bears are primed for a career year in 2019

We did not get to see the starters for the Chicago Bears in the preseason this year. However, we did not need to. There were no position battles and all starters knew their role coming into the season.

Bringing back so many starters is a great sign and shows a team ready to take a step forward. The familiarity is no longer an issue and now the goal is growth.

With that in mind, who are five players set to grow in 2019?

5. Allen Robinson

Ok, Robinson may not reach a career-high 1,400 yards that he hit in his second NFL season. Still, Robinson also should be closer to the 1,400 of that year than the 754 that he posted in his first season in Chicago.

Remember, last season Robinson was coming off of an ACL injury. It was also his first season with a new team. For Mitch Trubisky, it was his first season in a new offense, with brand new skill players. On top of that, Trubisky hardly had any NFL experience and was in an old school playbook year one.

Robinson missed some time in the middle of the year and Trubisky was banged up late. They were not going to strike magic that fast but considering all of the issues in their relationship, they did not have a bad first season.

In fact, it ended with a 10 catch, 143-yard playoff performance that saw the most magic in the last seconds of the game.

By the end of the year, Robinson was the clutch go-to that Trubisky just looked for automatically. Look for that last-minute momentum to roll into a second year that gets Robinson well over 1,000 yards.
