4. Eddie Goldman
This name may not have been as expected as Allen Robinson. Hasn’t Goldman already broke out? He is who he is, right? I am calling for another step forward. Goldman started as a rookie so he has been around forever.
That tends to blind people from the idea that he is still just 25 years old. A prime of a career is typically from 25-30, so yes, we have not seen the best of Goldman yet. Aside from a great age trajectory, Goldman is in the best spot of his career as well.
Goldman had evolved from a nose tackle to nickel rusher as well. He has become one of the more versatile NTs in the NFL. Last season, Bilal Nichols broke out next to him in their 3-4 defensive look.
Nichols will cut into some of the nickel snaps that Goldman takes. However, this means that Goldman will have more reign to take overplays when he is on the field. Goldman also will see less double teams because of Nichols. Teams will not let Nichols surprise them this season.
The added attention could mean a surprising career-high in sacks rate for Goldman in 2019.
