Predicting Chicago Bears first four games
By Adam Childs
Week 4 vs Minnesota Vikings
The Bears host the Vikings in week four in a big divisional game. The Bears swept the Vikings last year and did pretty easily. The last game kept the Vikings out of the playoffs as the Bears went into Minneapolis and took care of business.
Kirk Cousins is still trying to find his way with the Vikings after signing a big deal after leaving the Redksins. Some fans are starting to think that was a mistake as Cousins record against teams with winning records is not good. The good news for the Vikings is that this is not a primetime game as his record is even worse in those games.
Cousins does have some weapons led by Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs, but the running game is still a question mark as Dalvin Cook tries to bounce back to where he was pre-injury. If Cook or someone else can get it going on the ground this offense could be very dangerous. But then again Cousins has to be able to lead the way also and he has yet to prove that in Minnesota.
The Vikings defense should be very good again this year and this will be the toughest test for the Bears offense so far in the season. Like we mentioned earlier the Bears need to use their games against weaker opponents to get in their groove offensively. If they are still struggling coming into this game, it will be tough for them to win.
This has all the makings a very low scoring close game, which means it will probably be in the ’30s. But realistically this is a close, tough-nosed game reminiscent of the old days. I trust Tribusky to make more plays than Cousins and I think that makes a difference. The Bears defense makes life very uncomfortable for Cousins and forces him into two turnovers including a back-breaking pick-six. Bears win it in the fourth quarter.
