What are five positions where a roster spot could be won in the Chicago Bears final preseason game?

The starters have not played a single snap this preseason. As far as the fourth preseason game goes, there are at least 29 players who are already preparing for Week 1. The rest of the players will still be competing for depth chart status, a roster spot, practice squad status or even just to put out tape for the next team to sign them.

For the Chicago Bears, the starters are so set because the depth is questionable. There are going to be roster spots won in this final game.

Cornerback

The question here is whether they keep five or six cornerbacks. Kyle Fuller, Buster Skrine, and Prince Amukamara will sit out as roster locks. Kevin Toliver and Duke Shelley are not far behind and may not play Week 4.

This leaves Michael Joseph, Clifton Duck, and John Franklin. One may make the roster, but one or two will certainly be on the practice squad. Joseph played 139 snaps, Franklin played 119 snaps and Duck has played 89 so far.

Franklin is 10-14 when targeted, Duck is 6-11, and Joseph has been 3-9. However, Joseph has allowed 98 yards and a touchdown while Duck has allowed 57 and Franklin has allowed 125.

Franklin has also played 33 special teams snaps, Joseph has played 31 and Duck has played 27.

The three are all within reach of each other and will play the majority of the first half and into the second half on Thursday. Look for cornerback performances to have a say in the practice squad and 53-man.
