5 positions to watch in Chicago Bears final preseason game
Linebacker
Yes, this may count as a two for one. However, at the end of the roster, this will likely come down to special teams. Nick Kwiatkoski has become a lock, and Kevin Pierre-Louis seems to clearly sit above Josh Woods, and Joel Iyiegbuniwe. On the outside, Isaiah Irving is a lock while Kylie Fitts battles James Vaughters for the last spot.
So, Iggy, Woods, Fitts, and Vaughters should all see plenty of snaps in this game. How many will make the roster? One, maybe two. The other two have a great shot at the practice squad, but how these four play on Thursday will go a long way in saying whether they make the team.
Vaughters and Fitts lead the team with 42, and 41 special teams snaps respectively. Wood is not far behind with 36. As surprising as it sounds, Iggy has not been on special teams often either, logging just 10 snaps.
He is clearly in the dog house and will have one more game to push for a spot. However, at this moment he is number four of this group. Vaughters has played better than Fitts, but Fitts has more invested in him. Can either separate? These four should have all eyes on them on Thursday.
