Chicago Bears: Predicting games 5-8
By Adam Childs
Week 9 @ Philadelphia Eagles
Bears fans and probably anybody not named the Eagles are tired of hearing about the double doink, but with the Bears and Eagles meeting up in week nine we are going to hear about it over and over again during this week.
The last time these two teams met was in the playoffs last year in a game where the Bears offense couldn’t do much of anything and Nick Foles led the Eagles to an upset win. It was a disappointing end to a great season for the Bears and has led to questions on who their kicker would be this year.
The Bears would like nothing more than to return the favor to the Eagles this year and especially in Philadelphia. Carson Wentz should be playing in this game, as long as he can stay healthy, which he hasn’t the past two years.
If Wentz is playing this should be a very good Eagles team and he will be surrounded by former Bears ready to again show them what they are worth. Alshon Jeffrey has played well with the Eagles and Jordan Howard was traded over the offseason. It seems like the Bears gave up on him last year and he will be looking to prove they made a mistake.
All of this should make interesting storylines and much better than the double doink one that we are all very tired of. Hopefully, that doesn’t take away from what should be a great game.
Philadelphia is not an easy place to play and as long as everyone is healthy I expect a tough low scoring game. As much as the Bears want revenge, this game will be a tough one for the Bears and with it being on the road I give the edge to the Eagles. The Bears lose a close game on the road but it is not because of a missed field goal (at least we all hope not).
