Who were the Chicago Bears practice squad options?
The Chicago Bears did not announce their practice squad, but they did keep the lockers open of ten players who were on the 90-man roster. It can speak to the teams plans that they were pretty set on some of the players that they wanted to bring back to the practice squad.
Who are the ten players that made it, and what does it mean for the rest?
Ryan Nall
While we had Nall making the 53-man roster, it certainly was not for her that he was going to get claimed. Nall is a perfect practice squad option.
James Vaughters
Despite speculation that Taquan Mizzell was kept, the team kept outside linebacker Vaughters over Kylie Fitts for the last spot.
Jesper Horsted
Ian Bunting was the early hype of the preseason, but Horsted maintained throughout the four weeks and wound up with the practice squad spot. He is the Adam Shaheen insurance plan.
Thomas Ives
Ives has taken the Tanner Gentry role as the big-play receiver with great size and questionable speed deep down the field. Ives has great size and can make plays down the field.
Jonathan Harris
With Abdullah Anderson bumping Jon Bullard on the practice squad, Harris was able to jump into Anderson’s spot from last season.

Michael Joseph
Joseph dueled out John Franklin and Clifton Duck. All three had their ups and downs, but Joseph emerges with the job in Chicago.
Stephen Denmark
The Chicago Bears drafted Denmark but knew year one would be a redshirt for the former Valdosta receiver. Denmark hardly played this preseason as the team hid him and easily got their draft pick to the practice squad.
Tyler Bray
Bray did not play well enough to earn this spot last season, and was put on standby instead. This year, they did not want to risk him getting outside calls.
Alex Bars
Two years ago, we knew Tanner Gentry would clear waivers. Last year, we knew Ryan Nall would clear waivers. The pedigree and position of Bars was more skeptical. Fortunately, Harry Hiestand and the Bears have the most information on him, and when it came to taking a risk on a player that Hiestand signed off to cut, teams were not prepared to make the claim. Bars stays with a chance to get elevated to the roster if someone like Rashaad Coward goes to IR.
Sam Mustipher
Bars is joined by a starting center from Notre Dame. Look for Mustipher to slowly but surely make the seat hot for Ted Larsen.
