Tight Ends

According to a retweet by Larry Mayer, senior writer of chicagobears.com, starting tight end Trey Burton has sustained a mild groin strain.
#Bears TE Trey Burton is day-to-day with a mild groin strain that's unrelated to offseason sports hernia surgery. Said HC Matt Nagy: "It's unfortunate, but at the same time we're going to attack it head on."

Burton spent all offseason recovering from sports hernia surgery, and hasn’t participated in any of the preseason games. When asked if Burton will be a game-time decision this Thursday night, head coach Matt Nagy said “it could go that way.”
Even if Burton is a go for Thursday night, he hasn’t gotten himself in full football shape. That means with or without Burton, backup tight ends Adam Shaheen, Ben Braunecker, and Bradley Sowell will be looked upon to fill the void. Knowing Nagy’s creative mind, don’t be surprised if one of these players has an impact on this game.
