Finally, the 2019 NFL season is here! Fans of the Chicago Bears have waited with high anticipation all year long for this Thursday night matchup against the Green Bay Packers, only to be disappointed to witness a 10-3 defeat to the hated rival. The loss itself stings, however, seeing how the Bears loss is what hurts even more.

Defensively, Chicago picked up where they left off in 2018. Green Bay managed to only rush for 47 yards, and had a total of just 213 yards. The Bears didn’t force any turnovers, but did record five sacks, and forced five three-and-outs.

On the other side of the ball, it was a totally different story. Just like the Packers, Chicago’s offense was stagnant and looked rusty. Even in a close game, the play-calling by the coaching staff was lopsided and didn’t give certain players a chance to give the offense a much-needed spark.

Overall, 10 penalties helped keep the Bears from producing to the level that they are capable of, and some may go as far as blaming the lack of playing time in the preseason for the starters. Regardless of what the reason is for Chicago’s lackluster effort, the fact remains that the Bears are 0-1, and must find a way to get things on track.

Here are the position grades for Week 1.
