4. Are the Bears reliant on Trey Burton?

Trey Burton has missed two games since Matt Nagy was hired. The Bears have 18 combined points in those two games. Trey Burton is not a stat stuffer or an elite player. However, he is a vital piece to the Matt Nagy offense.

Nagy talked about Burtonm all last offseason. He mentioned how he stressed his signing to Ryan Pace. He needed a player like Burton. Why?

Burton is a matchup identifier. He can motion into the slot, full back, outside, and in-line. When he motions, defenses have to reveal their coverage in whether they follow him or not. This makes life easy for Mitch Trubisky.

This is not to say that he is the difference, but it is clear that the Bears think they need him and when they have him their offense is much more impressive. This could be something worth monitoring s his injury question went has become something that the Bears season could be riding on.
