Khalil Mack vs. Starting RT

The Denver offensive line is much worse than the Bears. However, like the Bears in 2018, the Broncos are doing something about. The Bears hired Harry Hiestand, a known coach from the Notre Dame offensive line that produced endless talent.

The Broncos added Mike Munchak, a former NFL head coach who had major success coaching the Steelers offensive line in seasons past.

Munchak is revamping this line and hoping to see a step similar to Chicago. However, the first week started to derail his plan.

The Broncos signed Ja’Wuan James as their starting right tackle from Miami. James was a huge upgrade to the group but went down in Week 1 with an injury that is suspected to bleed into the next few weeks. The Broncos have not said it yet, but expect James to be out.

This put Elijah Wilkinson, a 2017 UDFA in the game. Wilkinson has some starting experience but is not what the Broncos envisioned at right tackle. He allowed a sack coming in cold on Monday.

Now, he gets Khalil Mack, who almost always lines up on that side. Look for Pagano to not only send his star talent at Wilkinson but also look to mix blitzes to his side as well.
