3. Montae Nicholson

Scherff was a top-ten pick at an underrated position, McLaurin went to a known school and plays a prominent position. Maybe the true most underrated player on this list is Nicholson. Nicholson was a late round draft pick from Michigan State who is starting at Safety for Washington.

Most casual fans know Nicholson as the player who is starting next to Landon Collins. However, Nicholson got some starting time as a safety last season and grew into the role as he grew into the NFL.

When Washington added Collins, it was good for Nicholson, who would be playing more in coverage over the top then down in the box. His pysicality was a question coming out of the draft. Now, he is in a role where he can roam and use his athleticsm.

It has worked out for two weeks. Nicholson has made 11 tackles while giving up 5 yards after the catch. He has kept things in front of him. He has also done a good job of making plays, recording an interception as well.

Mitch Trubisky has been erratic this season. The last thing the Bears need is for him to test the unproven safety only to learn that he has grown into a solid NFL player with ball skills.

Take shots, but not give Nicholson a chance to get hot with his second straight interception.
