The Chicago Bears got their first win of the year against the Denver Broncos. Can they keep the momentum up this week when they head to Washington for a Monday night date with the Redskins?

Against the Broncos last Sunday the Chicago Bears offense looked very average again, but they were able to escape with a last-second win. Eddie Pineiro exercised some of the demons Chicago has felt from the double-doink in the playoffs. After a late 25 yard pass from Mitchell Trubisky to Allen Robinson, Pineiro drilled a 53-yard field goal to get the Bears the win.

The last-second win helped cover up how mediocre the offense looked during the game. Matt Nagy definitely decided to balance the offense running the ball 29 times and passing the ball 27 times. It is the type of balance the Bears need, but it still seemed to lack the creativity that Nagy is supposed to be known for.

The defense again stepped up in limiting the Broncos to just six points before the final drive, but the altitude seemed to get to them a little bit on the last drive and the Broncos almost won the game by getting a two-point conversion to take the late lead. Even though they gave up the late touchdown the defense came up big throughout the game to keep it close.

The Bear now travel to Washington for a Monday Night game against the Redskins. It is the only time all year the Bears will play back-to-back road games. It is again another road game that they should be able to win and they need to if they want to be taken seriously in the NFC. With the injuries to some big names in the conference (namely Drew Brees) the Bears need to try and pick up wins and distance themselves from the pack if they aren’t part of the pack.

We take a look at three keys for the Bears to go into Washington and get their second win of the year.
