The quarterback position is the most important position in football, and probably in all of sports. So, it comes as no surprise that the play of Mitchell Trubisky is the No. 1 thing to watch in this game. To say that Trubisky has struggled up to this point of the season is an understatement. Even if you don’t agree with that, it’s plain as day that the three-year veteran has yet to live up to the expectations that has been put on him this season.

As mentioned earlier, the Bears’ offense have been given a favorable matchup against this Redskins defense, and opposing quarterbacks have a QB rating of 124.8 this year. Trubisky definitely has to take full advantage of this opportunity so that he can gain confidence in himself, and so his teammates can do the same.

In Week 2, Trubisky did miss some wide-open receivers and continued to make unbalanced throws. Small things like that have to be adjusted in order to improve on his shaky start to this season. Playing on Monday night, the second-overall selection of the 2017 NFL Draft can prove to the country that he was worth being a high draft pick. Furthermore, this could be the start of Trubisky proving to everyone that he’s worth being mentioned in the same conversation as Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson.
