5 matchups Chicago Bears must-win Week 4
The Chicago Bears need to win these five matchups if they want to beat the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday
After sweeping the Minnesota Vikings last season, the team made some big changes to try to get back to the top of the division this year. So far, they have looked pretty strong and have gotten off to a 2-1 start. Of course, that matches the Chicago Bears record as well.
With both teams losing to the Green Bay Packers, this has become a huge division game with both teams looking to keep pace with the Packers.
It is not a must-win this early, but this game is huge. With that in mind, the Chicago Bears need to win the most important matchups. What are five matchups that need to be won by Chicago to beat the Vikings?
5. Allen Robinson vs Xavier Rhodes
The Minnesota Vikings pay Xavier Rhodes for matchups such as this one. Allen Robinson is an imposing player with a combination of size and quickness. Rhodes has the size to match and can physically stand up to Robinson in what should be a great match.
Rhodes dealt with some injuries last season and was not on his game, but appears to be as healthy as ever this year. Rhodes performed well against Julio Jones and Tyrell Williams this season, although he did give up a big pass to Davante Adams.
Still, it is clear that Rhodes has followed big receivers, and Sunday with be no different with Robinson. On the other side is Trae Waynes. Not many cornerbacks have the speed to match Taylor Gabriel, but Waynes actually does. They also are getting Mike Hughes and Mackensie Alexander healthy in the slot. It is going to be a tough test at every stop.
This is why Robinson needs to thrive. Mitch Trubisky has shown that he will throw to Robinson one-on-one no matter what. The other receivers have not earned that respect. Trubisky is going to test Rhodes, and whoever wins that matchup will determine who has an edge in this game.
