For what should’ve been an easy win before going into their bye week turned out to be a disappointing loss, which resulted in snapping a three-game winning streak. In Week 5, the Chicago Bears came up short in a battle between the Oakland Raiders, losing 24-21 in London.

Down 17-0 at halftime, the Bears (3-2) rallied back, scoring 21 unanswered points in the third quarter. Unfortunately, the Raiders countered with a fourth-quarter touchdown that gave Chicago their second loss of the season.

The beginning and the end of this game was lackluster by the Bears. It was in the middle (mainly the third quarter) where they showed signs of life. The offense was once again stuck in neutral and turned the ball over twice. Defensively, Chicago didn’t look like their dominate self. For the first time this season, the Monsters of the Midway failed to record a sack, and had just one quarterback hit the entire game.

All in all, this was the worst game the Bears have played this year thus far. Some say that the organization’s decision to arrive in London on Friday had something to do with Chicago’s poor performance. Just to let you know, the Raiders showed up in London on Monday, giving them more time to get acclimated to the time difference. Regardless, the Bears were outplayed and outcoached by a team that they should’ve easily beaten. Now, they have two weeks to reassess what went wrong before they get back to action in Week 7.
