5 things you might hear a Chicago Bears fan say
How many famous sports quotes can you come up with? Playoffs, playoffs? I am a man. What about the less famous sayings surrounding sports or a team? Well, here are five things you might hear a Chicago Bears fan say.
The Chicago Bears have a very rich history. The team has been around since the beginning of the NFL. They are one of the most historic franchises in sports, even if they only have one NFL championship during the Super Bowl era.
There is something I need to fully admit though before we get started. I have not always been a Chicago Bears fan. When I was younger, I was drawn to football by the great Dan Marino. I was a huge fan of the Miami Dolphins and Don Shula. I was still a fan during the Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas days. Plus, I owned a Ricky Williams jersey.
This all changed though as I got older. My father purchased season tickets during my junior year of high school. At that point, I was a fan of both the Miami Dolphins and the Chicago Bears but would not consider myself a diehard fan of either.
I was too young to appreciate the great Walter Payton and the beloved 1985 defense. That said, I stuck it out during the Dave Wannstedt and Dick Jauron years. I was blessed to be around during the Lovie Smith era and this is also when I fell in love with fantasy football. The more I learned about the game and the players, the more passionate I became.
This is when I dropped the Miami Dolphins completely and invested my entire NFL fandom into the Chicago Bears. The team rewarded me with the Brian Urlacher led defense and the 2006 Super Bowl appearance. As you know all know, being a Bears fan takes dedication. The team has given us fans much less to cheer about most seasons. That does not matter though as we bleed orange and blue.
Now that I have cleared the air, let us dive into five things you may hear a Chicago Bears fan say.
