With the trade deadline looming, rumors are swirling across social media. One recent player who may be available should not be on the Chicago Bears radar.

Wow, Chicago Bears fans. Could the Carolina Panthers truly put Cam Newton on the trade block this season? Would the team really feel comfortable continuing to roll out a 2018 undrafted free agent quarterback in Kyle Allen? Well, if you believe the whisperings that are taking place right now, the answer to both questions is maybe.

Right now, it seems that the Carolina Panthers who started the season 0-2, might be planning on playing Kyle Allen for the rest of the season. Rumblings are that the team is indeed considering trading the once NFL MVP Cam Newton. This move did not seem possible going into the 2019 season, but things clearly look to be moving in that direction.

Another rumor surrounding the possibility of Newton hitting the trading block is that as many as 10 teams are likely to be interested. This number seems high to me, but Newton is an electrifying player and there are a decent amount of teams with struggling or injured quarterbacks. One of those teams is the Chicago Bears. Could they be included in the rumored 10 teams?

We all know that Mitchell Trubisky and the offense have struggled to start the 2019 season. The offense has looked like a shell of its 2018 self, and even that season was not great statistically. This was supposed to be the year that Matt Nagy’s offense blew up. This was the Nagy 202 scheme and Trubisky was supposed to lead the scoring charge.

Unfortunately, things have not led up to expectations and Trubisky hurt his non-throwing shoulder and has missed some time. Essentially almost two full games to be exact. Could the slow start by Trubisky really lead Nagy and Ryan Pace to look elsewhere for help? My opinion is that you always keep your options open, but I do not believe Cam Newton changes anything for this team and here is why.
