It’s been two weeks since the Chicago Bears have set foot on the gridiron, and they will make their return this Sunday when they face the New Orleans Saints at Soldier Field. Currently, the Bears have a record of 3-2, which puts them at third place in the NFC North entering Week 7.

Before the start of the 2019 season, this game was labeled as one of the biggest tests for Chicago—all of this was assuming that New Orleans would have two of their biggest stars suiting up. However, quarterback Drew Brees has been sidelined with a thumb injury he sustained in Week 2, and is still unable to play. And surprisingly, Saints all-purpose running back Alvin Kamara has been ruled out of this contest with injuries to both his knee and ankle.

In their places is quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who is undefeated since stepping in as New Orleans’ starting signal caller, and running back Latavius Murray. Without Brees and Kamara on the field, it appears that this will be a simpler task for the sixth-ranked Bears defense. Their performance against a what-should-be softer offense will be closely monitored by many. However, let’s not overlook the fact that this Saints team has topped the 30-point mark twice since Bridgewater has been under center. Hopefully the extra week of preparation will be an advantage.

Although this big picture will be seen by many this Sunday, let’s not forget that there are many other vital aspects of this game that will be worth watching. Here are five things that should draw your attention this week.
